Well, this has been the year that was! Thank you so much to everyone who has listened in to the podcasts. They have regularly appeared in the Apple Comedy Fiction Charts and actually reached Number 30 in Great Britain and Number 22 in Australia. It’s so great to know there is an audience out there for ‘a niche within a niche within a niche’.
There are some very exciting plans for ’23, including a major expansion of the YouTube channel which up to now has just been used just for audio recordings. Next year will see a whole load of live videos of Stumpy storytelling, songs and stuff being unleashed, and new videos will be added each month.
Also, Stumpy and gang are back on the road from Dec ’22 with the following dates:
- Tue 13th Dec – Dunstable and District Local History Society
- Fri 9th Jun – Anteros Arts Foundation, Norwich
- Sat 17th Jun – North Walsham Community Centre*
- Thu 22nd Jun – Caddington Local History Group
(* The North Walsham show is a fundraiser for Poppyland Radio).
Which brings me nicely onto the ‘Stumpy Sanderson’s ‘70s Stories Radio Show’, which goes out every second Tuesday at 7pm on www.poppylandradio.co.uk, and is then repeated at 4pm on the following Saturday. You can also listen again to all the previous programmes on the Listen Again function. The usual zany and madcap mix of Stumpy stuff, and there are also some very exciting plans for some of the programmes for ’23 – check it out.
